Country is a collection of eight short stories from rural Australia. In locations ranging from the lush tropical wetlands of northern Australia to the arid outback the reader encounters a variety of unique characters including –

• Two young hoons who mix alcohol and fishing with dire results,
• A farmer whose drought-affected property is about to be repossessed but who finds his bank manager’s visit has an unexpected outcome,
• A devoted mother whose love for her son is repaid after death,
• An Indigenous elder who explains the myth of the Rainbow Serpent,
• Redneck Ralph, the professional barramundi fisherman who is ‘not averse to bending a few rules’  and
• The ‘legendary’ Ever-ready Ted….
